Congestive Heart Failure Clinic
At CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital's Congestive Heart Failure Clinic, congestive heart failure (CHF) patients come to the clinic for a 6-hour loop diuretic infusion. These are medications that relieve the heart of fluid overload thereby relieving the patient of the signs and symptoms of CHF.
A registered nurse and a cardiovascular technician care for the patients. While in the clinic, each patient is assessed by their cardiologist or a certified nurse practitioner. Lab work is drawn, heart rate and rhythm is monitored along with blood pressure and O2 saturation. Each patient is given a BIO-Z which is a noninvasive cardiac monitoring test. The clinic also offers an In-house CHF Disease Management Program, telemanagement services and Walk-in Heart Assessment Services which provides an option to the Emergency Room.
The CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Congestive Heart Failure Clinic is located on the 2nd Floor of the Cabrini Outpatient Center in the Cardiology Outpatient Department.
