CHRISTUS Cabrini Joint Replacement Center
What to expect from the Joint Replacement Center?
The Cabrini Joint Replacement Centers Clinical Nurse Manager works closely with the Orthopaedic Surgeons to begin providing the education patients need days before their surgery. The patient tours the Joint Center, meets the staff and is provided with information that will prepare them for their surgery and recovery. All pre-admit testing is performed on this visit as well. Physical Therapy is instrumental in achieving the best outcomes with joint replacements and our team of experienced therapist is second to none.
The physical and occupational therapists provide individualized therapy as well as education on exercises to be continued at home. Depending on the procedure performed, patients may be visited by physical therapists at home, or they may go to an out-patient facility for therapy. The success of any joint replacement surgery depends largely on the patients diligence in adhering to a therapy program and how they take care of themselves after being discharged.
