NICU Developmental and Follow Up Clinic
When babies are discharged from NICU, their specialty care certainly doesnt end there. Each week by appointment, our neonatologists, nurse practitioners and specially trained nursing staff continue to see children that have graduated from NICU.
Follow up care allows us to track the infants growth and development, identify or follow any health related problems, counsel parents regarding continuing care, perform special testing, and provide ongoing education for the new families. This clinic has been a part of our outreach services since the NICU was founded over 20 years ago. Becoming a level III regional unit in 2002 has provided our NICU with more opportunity to reach out in the community with programs and services for prematurely born children and their families. This clinic has expanded and grown tremendously over the years. Its valuable service has helped us maintain a very high level of care for our young patients.
