Pediatric Gastroenterology
As part of our outreach efforts for our Level III Regional NICU, and to answer the need of our community for this service, we began a pediatric gastroenterology clinic at Cabrini in July of 2002. This first ever clinic in Alexandria is conducted every first Wednesday of the month in the NICU clinic area. Our specialist sees children with gastric or digestive problems either by pediatrician referral or by appointment.
The acquisition of special testing equipment for children has enhanced the diagnosis and control of gastric problems in the children that we see. Most often we see children with recurrent abdominal pain associated with gastrointestinal ailments of all types.
