Perinatology / Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic

The Perinatology Clinic was started in the summer of 2000 to meet the needs of pregnant women in central Louisiana with high-risk problems. Maternal fetal medicine specialists come to our Cabrini clinic to see these women with special problems. This allows our special patients to be seen near home, and not have to travel out of town to see the MFM specialists.

The clinic is held on a bi-monthly on the second and third Wednesdays of the month. Women with special high-risk problems such as genetic problems, hypertensive disorders and diabetes are referred by their local obstetrician to be seen on consult at the clinic. The MFM specialist does special testing and high level obstetrical sonograms.
