CHRISTUS Louisiana sports medicine at Cabrini

What do we do

Injury clinic

For the convenience of athletes, their parents and coaches, CHRISTUS Louisiana Sports Medicine at Cabrini and Mid State Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center conduct a special clinic each Saturday morning during football season for the timely evaluation and treatment of game-night injuries.

High school physical day

Each year many area physicians, nurses and other volunteers join our team of orthopaedic surgeons and athletic trainers in providing physicals for over 1,500 area high school athletes. This service provides area athletes an opportunity to meet the requirements for participating in school sports at no charge to their parents. Healthcare professionals identify conditions that may limit an individualÕs physical abilities, or that may make it harmful for their participation in strenuous activities.

Promoting healthy communities

As part of the ministry of CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, we are committed to promoting healthy communities. Our team of athletic trainers work hand- in-hand with our school based nurses in speaking to physical education classes as well as other community groups on health topics, injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation. CHRISTUS Louisiana Sports Medicine athletic trainers can be found every weekend covering little league baseball, soccer tournaments, running events, as well as city-sponsored events such as the Alexandria Games.
