CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Women’s
Heart Center
Many women are surprised to learn that
heart disease is the leading cause of death in women, and that
breast cancer is the second most frequent cause. With this fact
in mind, the CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Women’s Heart
Center works to prevent and reduce heart disease by assisting
the women of Central Louisiana with identifying their risk factors
for coronary artery disease and stroke.
Through the use of the Wellsource Personal Risk Profile and Personal Wellness Profile, the Cardiovascular Nurse identifies individualized risk factors and reviews them with the patient. Together, the nurse and patient will plan and implement lifestyle modifications such as weight loss, smoking cessation, dietary and medication compliance, diabetic education and other educational counseling. Physician referrals are also arranged as needed for further diagnosis and treatment.
For further information, you may contact your primary care physician or the Women’s Heart Center at (318)561-4172.
